SCHOLARSHIPS

The Columbia Chapter began a scholarship program in 1975 to assist students attending schools in the chapter area. The scholarship is named for two past presidents of the local chapter and is awarded in amounts up to $500. Students from colleges in the Columbia Metropolitan Area are eligible for the scholarship. Students apply on forms provided by the chapter. Scholarship applications are accepted year round and scholarships are awarded in the Fall. A committee of chapter members select the scholarship recipients. Minimum requirements to apply are as follows:

	Possess high moral character and integrity.
	Possess potential for future contribution to the accounting profession and to the IMA.
	Be enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited college in the Columbia area.
	Have completed the sophomore year for four year colleges or have completed the freshman year for two year colleges.
	Have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
	Have at least one additional semester to complete before graduation.
	Be active in campus activities or show other extracurricular involvement.
