SCHOLARSHIPS


Wesley B. Edgar-Bruce Hadlock Scholarship Fund

The Columbia Chapter began a scholarship program in 1975 to assist students attending schools in the chapter area. The scholarship is named for two past presidents of the local chapter and is awarded in amounts up to $500. Students from colleges in the Columbia Metropolitan Area are eligible for the scholarship. Students apply on forms provided by the chapter. Scholarship applications are accepted year round and scholarships are awarded in the Fall. A committee of chapter members select the scholarship recipients. Minimum requirements to apply are as follows:

bullet Possess high moral character and integrity.
bullet Possess potential for future contribution to the accounting profession and to the IMA.
bullet Be enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited college in the Columbia area.
bullet Have completed the sophomore year for four year colleges or have completed the freshman year for two year colleges.
bullet Have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
bullet Have at least one additional semester to complete before graduation.
bullet Be active in campus activities or show other extracurricular involvement.
